In 1912, Thomas Carl Tromm founded his own company, TH.C TROMM Cöln a/Rhein, and took over the manufacture and sale of goods produced by the former Tromm & Co. The new company began with the refining and bleaching of ceresin and was henceforth called Wachs and Ceresin-Fabrik.

On a piece of land bought in Köln-Niehl in 1949, Tromm commenced construction of new and modern production facilities. Today Tromm is one fo the leading producers of waxes and wax-like products used in industrial processing.
